Hello and welcome to fifth grade! My name is Mrs. Shallenberger and I can't wait to meet you all! This will be my first year teaching 5th grade at Elmwood Academy! For the last 12 years I’ve taught 1st and 3rd grade in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Tennessee. I live here in Mechanicsburg with my husband and two boys (Rhett-4 and Ryder-2).

 

Our family loves baseball! My husband is the head baseball coach at Messiah University. So if it’s a Saturday in the fall or spring, you can find us at the baseball field! When I’m at home, I am sure to be drinking coffee (or reheating my coffee), cleaning, reading a book, playing with matchbox cars or, of course, playing baseball. 

 

This summer my husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and took a fun trip to Nashville, TN. I saw Taylor Swift absolutely light up the stage in Pittsburgh and the boys and I have spent a lot of time at our neighborhood pool.

 

It’s going to be a fantastic year as we learn and grow together!
